Son Siurana Agrotourism in Mallorca

We are happy to welcome you to Son Siurana, a Mallorcan Possessió from the 18th century located in the north of the island. Son Siurana is an agrotourism hotel that provides quality accommodation to guests who want to experience country life in a typical Mallorcan Possessió without giving up the well-being and comfort of today.

The farm – which at the same time continues to function as an agricultural and livestock farm – was renovated in 1997 to become a small family hotel with all the necessary amenities without losing its bucolic rural essence. Family heritage furniture, terracotta floors, hand-painted tiles, wooden beams and Mallorcan fabrics decorate all the rooms and cozy corners of Son Siurana.

Its privileged location is ideal for enjoying the countryside, the white sand beaches, the Tramuntana Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and charming towns such as Pollensa or Alcudia.

Our Origins and History

Son Siurana, which dates back to the 18th century, has since its beginnings been a rustic, agricultural and livestock farm dedicated to raising lambs, growing cereals and harvesting almonds and carob. His manor house (in Mallorca, called “Possessions”) dates back to 1784 (18th century) and is of typically Mallorcan architecture.

Son Siurana has always belonged to the same family, who in 1997 decided to renovate it to turn it into a hotel-agritourism. The old outbuildings for agricultural use, such as the hayloft or the sequer (where figs were dried in the past), today look like well-kept and cozy accommodations. The farm has an area of more than 100 hectares and is the ideal place to get to know country life, where you can go hiking, walk among the almond trees, relax in the pool or simply stop to contemplate the beautiful landscape from anywhere on the farm.

Over the centuries, the greatest source of wealth came mainly from the countryside and livestock, and in Son Siurana each year the fruits of the almond and carob trees were collected on time, and the infinite patience of the shepherd watched over the peaceful pasture of the sheep, from whom he later sold their wool and meat in the markets of the surrounding towns. 200 sheep currently graze in Son Siurana and an average of 300 lambs are born each year. The sheep are sheared in the month of May and it is a beautiful and ancient activity that our guests can see if it coincides with their stay on the farm.

Perfect coexistence between tradition and modernity, since today – 250 years later – we continue to practice the same field work as our ancestors did in the past.
